The Clamelle chlamydia service is run jointly by Actavis, the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), which manages registrations, and Gordon Laboratory Group (GLG), an accredited private laboratory that carries out the testing, manages the test results and the customer database.
Diagnosis of chlamydia is confirmed by a laboratory Nucleic Acid Amplification (NAAT) test, a simple urine test which detects the nucleic acid of the C. trachomatis bacterium. A NAAT test is the required gold standard test for detecting chlamydia infection in men and women.
